I’m composing the original score for this film in production, using minimal, emotionally driven textures to underscore its honesty and tension.

Art From Grief

Art From Grief is a short documentary in production by Parkway Studios that explores how artists respond to loss through creative expression. Inspired by our work on The Resonance Sessions, the film continues our exploration of art, place, and resilience in the wake of Hurricane Helene. I'm leading audio production alongside a collaborative team from Parkway Studios and West Ashe Creative.

The story follows two artists—Doug Carr and Sarah “Songbird” Burkey—as they navigate personal and environmental grief through music, visual art, and a profound connection to the natural world.

Resonance Sessions

The Resonance Sessions was a deeply collaborative project recorded in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene to support local artists affected by the storm. I co-engineered the sessions, mixed all 35 performances, and worked closely with a team of filmmakers, producers, mastering engineers and vinyl manufacturers to bring it all together. Pressed into a triple vinyl set as a fundraiser, the Resonance Sessions have become a love letter to the resilience of Western North Carolina’s music community.

Parkway Sessions

I handled all things audio for the inaugural  music series from Parkway Studios, from planning sessions with bands to recording, mixing, and mastering the final tracks. I even got on the other side of the camera when I played violin on "Star Stuff", and I brought in another engineer to run the board. Collaborating closely with the video team, we made sure it all looked as good as it sounded.

Old Home Place Recordings

Old Home Place Recordings started as a project between me and filmmaker Aaron Stone: we wanted to document the music around us in Asheville, NC. It quickly turned into a full video series, capturing performances in record stores, living rooms, forests, and theaters across Western North Carolina. I handled all aspects of audio from field recording to final mix and worked closely with Aaron to make sure each session honored the music and the setting.
